Focusing on Question Types (LSAT)

As students begin to improve at the LR section, they will sometimes plateau. It's easier to improve when you're scoring lower than it is when scoring higher.

For these students especially (though, really, for all students) I often recommend taking some time to focus on the question types of any questions that are answered incorrectly. In other words, was it a weaken question, a strengthen question, a necessary assumption question, etc.

I recommend to them that they go as far as to create sort of a chart for themselves so that they'll be able to visualize which question types are causing them the most difficulty. There might be a question type that keeps tripping them up; getting better at that question type can help a student to improve who may be seeing less improvement now that he/she is scoring higher than before.

Each question type requires slightly different approaches. Different modes of reasoning, a different focus, etc. And so by focusing on question types, you're taking your LR skills to the next level of understanding, and that next level of understanding may well be exactly what is needed to improve when you're already scoring well.
